ITALIAN Serie A leader Inter Milan extended its advantage to 16 points by coming from behind to win 2-1 at Livorno on Saturday. Inter striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored one goal and created the other. Cristiano Lucarelli put home team Livorno ahead in the 27th minute with a bending free kick. Ibrahmovic set up Julio Ricardo Cruz for the tying goal in the 35th and netted the winner with a 66th-minute free kick. Second place Roma rallied to a 1-1 tie on Sweden midfielder Christian Wilhelmsson’s 85th-minute goal after Andrea Soncin had put last-place Ascoli ahead in the 31st. The results give Inter 70 points to Roma’s 54. Inter’s win meant normal service was resumed after its midweek 1-1 draw with Udinese — a result that broke the side’s record-breaking 17-match winning streak in the division. (SD-Agencies)
