THE telecommunications industry revenue in January rose 6.6 percent from a year earlier to 53.24 billion yuan, but the revenue growth was slower than that posted in all of 2006, partly because of lower fees for phone services, Ministry of Information Industry spokesman Wang Lijian said Friday.
China, the world’s largest mobile phone market, had 467.41 million mobile users at the end of January, up 6.33 million from the end of last year, while fixed-line users totaled 368.85 million, up 1.04 million, he said.
