Actress Xu Jinglei will become the chief editor and sponsor* of an E-journal* to be published on the Internet starting April.

She said becoming a magazine editor had been her dream since she was young. With the help of friends, she has decided to realize her dream on the Web, since traditional magazines need more money and labor.

Xu added that the Web magazine will not replace her blog*, as the blog includes her life stories while the Web magazine will cover more comprehensive* topics and combine other opinions aside from her own.

The biweekly magazine will invite columnists* to comment on various fields, including fashion, entertainment, culture, science and politics. Famous writers Wang Shuo and Han Han have agreed to write for the Web magazine.

Xu Jinglei is renowned for her abilities in many fields, including acting, directing films and writing.
