United stays 6 points ahead of Chelsea
    2007年03月19日

WAYNE ROONEY and Park Ji-Sung scored two goals each as Manchester United beat Bolton 4-1 Saturday to maintain its six-point advantage over Chelsea in the English Premier League.

Chelsea posted a routine 3-0 victory over lowly Sheffield United with goals by Andriy Shevchenko, Salomon Kalou and Michael Ballack. But Jose Mourinho’s Blues now have only eight games to make up the six points. They host United next month.

United is 24-3-3 for 75 points from 30 games, and Chelsea (21-6-3) has 69.

West Ham moved away from last place with a 2-1 victory at Blackburn. But even Hammers coach Alan Curbishley acknowledged the winner never crossed the line.

After Argentina striker Carlos Tevez had scored from the penalty spot to cancel out Christopher Samba’s 47th-minute goal for Rovers, Bobby Zamora’s 75th-minute shot struck teammate Tevez on the line. The linesman flagged it as over.

Watford slipped to last with a 3-1 loss at Tottenham in which goalkeeper Paul Robinson scored one of his team’s goals. England’s starting goalie launched a free kick from 75 meters and the ball bounced over the head of Watford’s Ben Foster and fly into the net.
