Female peacekeeper to leave for Haiti next month
Ma Defen, a gynaecologist of Guangdong Provincial Frontier Defense Corps Hospital Shenzhen branch, holds her son in her arms yesterday afternoon during a farewell ceremony held at the hospital. Ma will go to Haiti early next month on an eight-month peacekeeping mission, together with 124 other Chinese peacekeepers, the fifth such batch from China to be sent to the Caribbean nation.
