Shenzhen loses

SHENZHEN Shangqingyin lost to Shandong Luneng 1-0 in a Chinese Super League (CSL) match in Shenzhen yesterday. Shenzhen is 12th place in the 15-team league with six points. Beijing Guo’an leads the league with 16 points.

Man U’s Asia tour

SHENZHEN Shangqingyin will face English Premier League powerhouse Manchester United in Macao on July 23, Las Vegas Sands Corp., parent company of The Venetian Macao Resort Hotel, announced last week. The battle for The Venetian Macao Cup will mark United’s first ever appearance in Macao and its only appearance in China as part of the team’s Asia Tour 2007.

Italian Serie A

AC Milan warmed up for the second leg of the Champions League semifinals with a 1-0 win at Torino in Serie A. Clarence Seedorf scored with a long, rising shot in the 26th to move Milan ahead of Lazio into third place. On Wednesday, Milan hosts Manchester United in the Champions League. United won the opening leg 3-2 on Tuesday.
