Feng film to open Pusan Film Festival
    2007年08月31日  00:35    Shenzhen Daily

FAMOUS Chinese director Feng Xiaogang's "The Assembly" will open the 12th Pusan International Film Festival (PIFF), South Korean media reported Wednesday.

The festival will close with the Japanese film "Evangelion 1.0: You Are (Not) Alone," directed by Hideaki Anno, Kazuya Tsurumaki and Masayuki.

"The Assembly" will have its world premiere at the PIFF. Feng is famous for his earlier films like "The Banquet," "A World Without Thieves," and "A Sigh."

The film is a human drama portraying a soldier who devotes his entire life to redeeming the honor of fellow soldiers who are declared missing in action.

The PIFF, one of Asia's major film festivals, will be held in the southeastern port city of Pusan from Oct. 4 to 12.
