‘New Vision’
An annual exhibition of oil paintings created by graduates of fine art institutes nationwide is being held in He Xiangning Art Museum. Since its debut in 2003, the exhibition have won great acclaim from both the public and art circles.

Prints from Heilongjiang More than 150 prints created by 19 Heilongjiang artists are being exhibited at Guanlan Art Museum.
The exhibition features water, oil, wood, copper and stone prints.
Print artist Chao Mei said prints by Heilongjiang artists express a poetic viewpoint. Hao Boyi’s prints, for example, reflect his feelings about missing his hometown while Chen Yanlong’s print “Collision” reflects his view on the impact of modern industry on traditional agriculture.
All the exhibited prints are on sale during the exhibition period.

Machinery installations
Two installations by avant-garde artist Wang Luyan, titled “Sawing and Being Sawn?” and “W Set Square Rulers 1-2,” are on display in Shenzhen.
Along with the two installations, some original sketches and more than 20 of the Beijing-based artist’s paintings are also on display.
Made up of three circular saws cutting through each other on a lathe, the installation “Sawing and Being Sawn?” is 10 meters long, 3.5 meters tall, 2.8 meters wide, and weighs 13 tons.

Russia’s Red Army
The Red Army Song and Dance Troupe of Russia will present more than 20 Russian and Chinese folk songs and dances in Shenzhen.
Formed in 1973, the troupe featuring a male choir, mixed dance group and orchestra, is one of the most prestigious groups in Russia.
The songs they will perform in Shenzhen range from Russian folk tunes to army songs and Chinese folk music, including “Katyusha,” “Kalinka” and “The Volga Boatmen’s Song.” International dances, like tap dance, cancan and gypsy dance will also be performed.
