Music festival of two cities
    2007年11月20日  02:37    Shenzhen Daily

More than 20 bands from home and abroad will perform in Shenzhen and Guangzhou every night from Thursday to Dec. 9, during the seventh Base Bar Music Festival.

French band Less Kro, Beijing-based pop bands Carsick Cars and Yan, Inner Mongolian singer Siqin Gerile and other bands from Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Yunnan, Xinjiang, France and Canada will perform at the shows (See schedule below).

Formed in 2003, Yan comprises vocalist and guitarist Tang Ping, bassist Li Jian and drummer Wang Lan. The band stopped performing in 2004 and restarted this year. Yan plays pop and rock music.

A high-pitched, sonorous voice and a talent for music combined to establish the Inner Mongolian girl Siqin Gerile as China’s No. 1 female rock singer. In 2001, Siqin Gerile became an overnight hit with the launch of her first album, “New Age.” That year she won just about every best new vocalist award on the Chinese mainland.
