Frauds take 20% of insurance payouts

TWENTY percent of insurance payouts by insurance companies in Shenzhen is obtained by fraud, according to a Southern Metropolis Daily report yesterday.

The amount of money cheated is estimated at 10 million yuan annually, the report quoted an industry insider as saying. To avoid the problem, insurance companies have set up a reward system for information about fraudulent claims and will put the offenders on a black list.

Airport expands check-in services

TWO more locations were added Sunday to the network of city check-in services offered by the Shenzhen airport.

The addition of Zhongshan and Zhuhai brings to nine the number of check-in services for the airport. Other locations are at Huizhou, Hong Kong and Macao. At city check-ins, passengers can buy tickets and check baggage, then travel by bus to board their flights at the airport. The airport began opening check-in services in other cities in April.
