Shangri-La spa receives awards

CHI, The Spa at Shangri-La - Shangri-La's signature spa brand - was awarded "Spa Marketing of the Year" at Baccarat AsiaSpa Awards held on Nov. 16, while the Jade Journey therapy from CHI at Pudong Shangri-La, Shanghai, was acclaimed as the "Spa Treatment of the Year." CHI, The Spa received a total of eight nominations.

Introduced in June 2007, the Jade Journey uses jade pieces and Chinese massage techniques drawn from ancient healing traditions to release blockages in meridian points throughout the body. The one-hour-forty-minute journey includes a Jade Foot Bath, a Tea Bath Ritual followed by traditional Chinese guasha (stroking) movements using jade stones to harmonies the yin and yang of the body.

The CHI concept is to create a sanctuary of tranquility inspired by the legend of "Shangri-La," high in the mystical Himalayan Mountains. The CHI spa philosophy is based on fusing ancient traditions, beliefs and rituals from China and the Himalayas, while featuring some of the largest and most luxurious private spa suites and villas in their markets.
