Onlookers at the site of a roof collapse in Houma City, Shanxi Province, yesterday. Three construction workers were killed and 11 were injured when the roof of a new bus terminal collapsed at 1 a.m. Sunday, 10 hours after a ceremony, marking the completion of its main structure in the city. Construction of the station was supposed to be completed before May.

A construction worker said, on condition of anonymity, that some shortcuts may have led to the accident as workers rushed to meet the deadline.
