The Hong Kong International Poster Triennial 2007 is being held at the Hong Kong Heritage Museum. The triennial, organized by the Hong Kong Designers Association, has three parts — a competition, an exhibition and a seminar. Compared to the triennials in 2001 and 2004, the Triennial 2007 has received an even more overwhelming response, with a total of 732 designers from 46 countries or regions submitting 2,252 works. Grouped into four categories, “Ideology,” “Promotion of Cultural Events,” “Commercial and Advertising” and “Thematic — Children,” the entries provide a comprehensive overview of the new trends in global poster design. After a selection process, 249 entries were chosen for the exhibition, and they are being showcased together with representative works from the six international judges to offer the public a visual kaleidoscope of the cultures of the world.
