THE Shenzhen International Finance Exposition (Finexpo) will open at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center today.

More than 130 financial institutions from home and abroad and 300 experts in finance, venture capital and fund management will attend the two-day exposition.

Based on the theme of investment, financing and management, the expo will introduce monetary management and finance services for individuals and enterprises through forums, exhibitions, promotional conferences and lectures.

The exposition is separated into three parts including financing services for small and medium-sized enterprises, financial service products and personal fund management services, according to the organizer the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Shenzhen Subcouncil.

“The expo targets hot issues of the finance industry and focuses on IPOs of small and medium-sized enterprises, financial product services and personal fund management,” said He Xuewen, chairman of the CCPIT Shenzhen Subcouncil.

Chen Yingchun, vice mayor of Shenzhen, hoped foreign experts attending the Finexpo would offer their expertise and experience for the city’s development in the finance sector during the expo.

The finance industry has become one of the three major pillar industries in Shenzhen following the high-tech and logistics sectors. The city has established a sound financial system with banks, securities and insurance companies as the main body.

To speed up its drive to become a regional finance center, the city started the construction of four landmark financial buildings and service parks recently.

After completing the construction of financial centers and parks in 2011, the city will introduce more foreign financial institutions.
