
ESTABLISHED in 1990 by Petrov, the KBT maintains classical ballet traditions at the same time as promoting creativity and experimentation. Since its inception the ballet company has presented 20 different dances. They prefer to use a variety of choreographers, thus varying their repertoire with both classical works and contemporary productions. Their repertoire has included Armsgamer's"Cavalry Halt,"Prokoffiev's"Cinderella,"Tchaikovsky's"Nutcracker,"Minkus""Don Quixote," Tchaikovsky's"Swan Lake,"Gogol's"Nevsky Prospect,"and Prokofiev's"Ivan the Terrible." Created in 1991 by Maestro Veronika B. Dudarova, the SOR was formed by musicians from Moscow and other music centers of the former Soviet Union, Kiev, Leningrad, Minsk, and Novosibirsk. Among them were 12 laureates of international competitions. The brass and percussion sections are magnificent. The string section consists of skilled veterans and talented young people.
