DON'T be surprised if you see deep-fried dough stick on the menu when you next visit KFC. The traditional Chinese breakfast food is the latest product promoted by the U.S. fast-food giant to cater to the local tastes. The company started selling the Chinese snack for three yuan (US$0.4) each in its more than 2,000 stores across China on Monday. This is the fourth Chinese dish offered by KFC so far, following three different kinds of porridge. Deep-fried dough stick is a popular breakfast item in some Chinese cities, along with flatbread, beancurd soup and rice balls. (Song Yingwen)
