Counterfeit products worth 20 million yuan (US$2.82 million) were destroyed by the Shenzhen Municipal Administration for Industry and Commerce yesterday, five days ahead of World Consumer Rights Day which falls on March 15.

Among the counterfeit products destroyed yesterday were cigarettes, alcohol, clothing, footwear, bedding, timepieces, mobile phones, cosmetics and electronic products.
