Second nuke plant in Fujian CHINA would start to build a nuclear power plant in November with total installed capacity of 6 gigawatts in Fujian Province, Xinhua said. It would be the second in the province. The first two generating units, each of one gigawatt, are slated to start operation in 2013 and 2014, in Sanshan County of Fuqing City, Xinhua reported, quoting a local government source. China has begun building two nuclear plants so far this year, one in Ningde in Fujian Province and a second in eastern Zhejiang Province. State-run China National Nuclear Corp. and China Huadian Corp. were the investors of the Fuqing plant, holding 51 percent and 49 percent stake respectively, Xinhua said. Honda car sales up HONDA Motor said Thursday it sold 11.9 percent more vehicles on the mainland in February than a year earlier, slightly lagging 17 percent growth in the overall market. Honda, Japan’s second-biggest carmaker, whose models include the Accord, Civic and Odyssey, sold 28,359 cars in China last month, compared with 25,344 a year earlier, it said in a statement. Sales at its venture with Dongfeng Motor, based in Hubei Province, jumped 70.6 percent to 10,259 units in February, it said.
