DAVID BECKHAM has said he is honored to be given the chance to win a 100th cap for England against France tonight and is determined to continue his international career. As all 23 members of the England squad gathered for Monday’s training session at a snowy London Colney, Beckham said he was relishing his return following omission for last month’s friendly against Switzerland. “I’ve enjoyed it, enjoyed being back with the guys and training was great so I am very happy,” Beckham said. “I never thought a year ago or two years ago that I would make 95 caps, never mind 100. I’m honored that I’m making, hopefully, my 100th appearance in an England shirt but I’m also honored to be doing it against one of the best teams in the world. “It is more important I carry on playing let alone reaching the 100. To be mentioned in the class of those that have reached that and gone above is a massive honor but I want to carry on — I’m not ready to stop playing for my country.” Meanwhile, France had already lost Karim Benzema, Bacary Sagna, Sebastien Frey and Mathieu Valbuena to injury at the weekend before Thierry Henry joined them Monday on the sidelines. The former Arsenal forward aggravated an injury during Barcelona’s win over Valladolid and he will not be risked in Paris.(SD-Agencies)
