The fourth municipal committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) will gather from April 8 to 12 for their fourth meeting, yesterday's Daily Sunshine reported. The information was disclosed at the 11th session of the Standing Committee of the Fourth Municipal Committee of the CPPCC on Tuesday. At Tuesday's meeting, Mayor Xu Zongheng also briefed political advisers about the city's social and economic development last year and the city government's plan and priorities for this year. A total of 52 new members of the municipal committee of the CPPCC were elected at the meeting. Last year, the third session of the fourth municipal committee of the CPPCC tabled 605 proposals to the municipal government, all of which were handled within a reasonable period of time, according to the Daily report. Issues raised in 214 of the 605 proposals, or 33.8 percent of the total, were solved or otherwise taken care of.(SD News)
