Norovirus sickens 82
    2008年03月31日  07:37    Shenzhen Daily

SOME 80 Shenzhen University students who came down with symptoms of food poisoning at the weekend were confirmed to have affected by Norovirus, the Southern Metropolis Daily yesterday quoted health officials as saying.

“There were a total 82 confirmed cases. Most sick students recovered and were released from hospital after timely treatment,” an official with Nanshan District health office said Saturday. The official declined to be named.

On Thursday night, the students began to fall sick with symptoms of nausea, vomiting and diarrhea, the report said.

“We fell sick after eating in on-campus restaurants yesterday. We are not sure exactly which one served the food that sickened us,” said a student being treated at Shenzhen No. 2 People’s Hospital on Saturday. There are a number of eateries and dinning halls on the university campus in Nanshan District.

Nanshan District health authorities have closed all eateries for inspection. Investigation results are yet to be announced.
