A FLIGHT of HK based Dragon Air out of Beijing made an emergency landing at Capital International Airport in Beijing after one of its engines caught fire Sunday.
No casualties were reported, the Beijing News reported yesterday.
The KA991 flight to Hong Kong returned to the tarmac after one of its engines failed soon after takeoff.
The crew asked passengers to use oxygen masks and took safety precautions before the emergency landing half an hour after taking off.
Firefighters said no flames were detected onboard.
A fire was reported to have broken out in the left side engine of the Airbus 330 which was carrying 300 passengers, according to a well-informed source.
Most of the passengers were taken to a hotel at the airport. Some were reported to have been suffering from shock.
