A 4-YEAR-OLD “Superman” fan took his maiden flight from the third-floor of his home Tuesday — and landed unscathed.
Medical checks at Shenzhen Children’s Hospital found that Li Bote, who jumped from the window of the third floor while at home alone, escaped without a scratch, yesterday’s Daily Sunshine reported.
Doctors said Li would be kept in hospital for a few more days for observation.
“We have to make sure the boy does not have an internal injury,” said a doctor who declined to be named.
Li was home alone watching cartoon movies when he decided to try to fly like the comic book character, Superman, the Daily said. He was found by neighbors, who insisted on taking him to hospital.
Li’s father said his son had long been fascinated by cartoon figures, including Superman and Ultraman. “He likes to imagine himself a superman, often jumping on the bed and sofa at home,” his father said.
The father said he was still afraid to think of what could have happened and he would never allow it to happen again.
Experts said parental guidance was needed for children watching TV and advised parents not to leave children home alone. (Li Jing)
