STEAK lovers can now gorge on their favorite meat to their heart’s content at Oscar’s Steakhouse <2022> Lounge in Holiday Inn Donghua Shenzhen, which offers juicy charcoal-grilled steak and an open kitchen.
Chocolate-colored chairs and floors match the cream-yellow ceiling; white napkins folded into flower shapes stand elegantly on red plates; orange light fuses with the jazz music of a live band, creating a nostalgic feel.
The steakhouse, which opened March 3, features fresh Australian beefsteak cooked by Australian chef Matthew Jones.
Aged only 32, Jones has had many unforgettable experiences. He once worked at a restaurant affiliated to the Sydney Opera House, where he presented genuine Australian food to impress visitors from all over the world. He was also a member of the team that served the late Princess Diana during her trip to Australia. Diners can meet the chef at the open kitchen in Oscar’s and see how he prepares charcoal grills.
To start your dinner at Oscar’s, the king prawn cocktail is a good choice. Chilled king prawns are served in a cocktail with shaved iceberg lettuce, lemons and seafood, delighting both taste buds and the eyes.
The red pepper crab bisque is recommended for the soup course. The very thick soup, colored light brown, is delicious with fresh crabmeat. You’ll feel the fragrance in your mouth long after you finish it.
Most main courses are large enough to satisfy carnivores. The T-bone steak, bone steak and eye fillet use steaks from grain-fed oxen and are grilled in the Australian style with charcoal.
After dinner, you can have a drink and enjoy the Filipino band at the lounge area. As you sit in the cozy chair, you can relax as the soothing tunes filter through the air.
