HARARE, Zimbabwe: President Robert Mugabe’s ruling party is demanding a vote recount and a further delay in announcing the results of Zimbabwe’s presidential election, the state Sunday Mail newspaper reported, prompting outrage from the opposition party.

Students released

BAGHDAD, Iraq: Iraqi police said yesterday gunmen had released 42 college students they kidnapped earlier in the day near the northern city of Mosul. The bus carrying the students was ambushed yesterday morning on the main highway linking Mosul with Baghdad.
