Lighter ban

PASSENGERS are forbidden to carry cigarette lighters or matches on airline flights, according to a new rule effective from Monday.

This is a new safety measure imposed by the Civil Aviation Administration of China since it forbade passengers from carrying liquids in hand bags on domestic flights in mid-March.

Lane renovation

THE border checkpoint at Shenzhen International Airport started renovating exit and entry lanes and installing automatic screen gates to improve efficiency and avoid overcrowding, exit and entry authorities said Tuesday. The renovation will last 20 days.
