A FEMALE pineapple vendor nearly bit off a law enforcer"s penis during a fight to stop urban management officers from removing hawkers from streets in Nanshan District last week.

The unidentified woman bit the officer"s penis after his colleagues confiscated her pineapple cart near the Nantou Ancient City on Wednesday, the Daily Sunshine reported Friday.

She did not let go until other officers pulled her away.

The man was seriously injured and needed further treatment, a doctor with the Nanshan District People?ˉs Hospital who refused to be named told the Daily.

The law enforcer said he felt excruciating pain at the time and could not remember what had happened. Another law enforcer also suffered a minor injury during the incident.

The woman has been detained by police.

On the same day, 16 urban management officers were injured in Taoyuan Subdistrict during a routine inspection, the report said.

Urban management officers in China have a broad range of duties from penalizing illegal vendors to overseeing the demolition of illegal structures. They have long been criticized for their arbitrary and sometimes crude enforcement methods.
