BEIJING Crystal Digital Technology Co. will be the image designer for the 2011 Universiade in Shenzhen, according to an agreement signed Tuesday.

Liang Daoxing, vice mayor of Shenzhen and director general of the executive office of the organizing committee for the Universiade, was present when the agreement was signed.

Social workers

THE city will stage a series of activities in the coming week to promote and popularize services provided by social workers.

The activities include help for the elderly and performances by social workers. The city now has 543 social workers under the program initiated last year.

Thai rice

THE price of Thai rice has increased 6.5 percent on average compared with last week because of hikes in international prices, sources with the Buji Farm Produce Wholesale Market said Tuesday.
