PLANES leaving and landing at Beijing Capital International Airport must use English in wireless communication with ground controllers from May 5, 2010, the aviation watchdog said Tuesday.

TROPICAL storm Neoguri, which formed in the South China Sea on Tuesday, strengthened into a typhoon yesterday afternoon and was approaching the sea south of China抯 Hainan island, according to the Hainan Provincial Meteorological Observatory.

Airport planned

THE Civil Aviation Administration of China has approved a plan to build an airport in the Tibetan autonomous prefecture of Gannan in northwestern Gansu Province, the provincial government said yesterday.
