City’s CPI up 7.6% SHENZHEN’S CPI in March showed a 7.6 percent increase over the same period last year, a report released by the city’s statistics authorities said Friday.
Food prices topped the list by an increase of 17.1 percent over March 2007, among which edible oil prices showed the fastest growth of 42.1 percent, followed by a 40.3 percent rise in the price of meat and meat products.
Award for airlines
SHENZHEN Airlines received the International Diamond Star Award from the American Academy of Hospitality Sciences at a ceremony Friday.
The award is the most prestigious for true excellence in hospitality, gastronomy, attitude, quality, cleanliness and above all service. Shenzhen Airlines is the fourth airline to receive the award in China. Established in 1993, Shenzhen Airlines has become one of the most competitive and successful airlines in China.

CHINA Reinsurance (Group) Corp., the country’s biggest reinsurer, opened its second overseas representative office in Hong Kong on Friday as part of its strategy to develop its business overseas.
China Reinsurance opened its first overseas representative office in London last month.
