Rate adjustment

THE city government has reduced administrative charges for the maintenance and renovation of water projects by 80 percent to relieve the burden on enterprises.

According to the fee reduction plan, enterprises will pay according to a new rate, 0.01 percent of their business volume, after they resume operations after the May Day holiday. Previously, they had to pay 0.05 percent.

Extra train

SHENZHEN Railway Station will add an extra train from Shenzhen to Nanchang, Jiangxi Province, during the coming May Day holiday.

Train L186 will depart Shenzhen at 6:56 p.m. May 1 and arrive in Nanchang at 8:32 a.m. the following day, a railway spokesman said yesterday.

Passenger peak

THE number of passengers passing through Luohu Checkpoint is expected to reach 870,000 during the three-day May Day holiday, an increase of about 14.5 percent over the same period last year.

The checkpoint will open all lanes and add more police to ensure passengers can complete border formalities within 25 minutes.
