Dance to depict ancient Wuhan
    2008年05月13日  09:55    Shenzhen Daily

The dance drama “A Tale of Rebuilding Panlong,” presented by the Wuhan Song and Dance Theater, will be staged Saturday.

The show describes the history of Panlong, an ancient town dating back more than 3,500 years, from which modern-day Wuhan City is said to have originated.

In the story, the town is destroyed and the king of the Panlong Tribe is killed by marauding tribes. To fulfil the king’s last request, his twin sons lead the Panlong people in rebuilding the town despite great difficulties. The dance drama features tuneful melodies, creative choreography and a Central China folk flavor.

Located north of the Yangtze River in Central China’s Hubei Province, Panlong is now an archaeological site in Huangpi District of Wuhan, the capital of Hubei.
